Features of 3.96mm Female Header
The socket connector has a robust positive locking mechanism designed to prevent accidental engagement from falling or external impact. When engaged, a firm click is clearly felt to indicate that the connector is fully inserted, ensuring a secure electrical and mechanical connection. A positive locking mechanism in the middle of the housing equalizes the lock and prevents Cable entanglement that can occur with side locks.
Molded contact retention tabs, or lances, are built into the housing rather than into the crimp terminals to prevent wire entanglement during assembly. The housing design also includes color coding and keys to prevent differences between the different core numbers. The connector contacts are separated from each other by internal walls to prevent short circuits.
